Well, the good news is that this happened
before November 1, I should be over it by then.
Halloween has to be my favorite Holiday of the year. Aside from the fact that it's history appeals to my sense of twisted imagination, I love
love love dressing up. If I had a just a
little bit more confidence I would do it every day of the year. This year hubby man and I are going as Erebus and Nyx. While it would have been incredible to have done the whole traditional toga thing, we opted for a more stylized bastardization of Renaissance-1800 hundreds adaptation. He's wearing deep blue and black, I'll be in purple and black. I'll post pictures sometime next week.
In other costuming news, my nieces had a tea party for their mutual birthday party. My sister, who's one of the most incredible people on the
planet, managed to plan this incredible Tea Party/Mad Hatter themed party between planning a funeral, working full time and attending a full load of classes. How amazing is that? She, our mom and I did all of the sewing for the "zany" costumes we wore to the party. The girls had Alice in Wonderland inspired dresses, the oldest in hot pink and electric blue and the youngest in Neon green and electric purple. The boys all wore vests with gold sequined collars. Us women merely wore aprons, but we found some pretty fantastic patterns for them.
The face painter was
amazing! Our face painter last year just wasn't that good. The kids (and quite a few of us adults...) enjoyed her work.

This one is the youngest. She was already sleepy apparently.

This is the oldest, and he was
very unhappy about having to wear purple at first.

This is the oldest girl who adored her costume like none else.

This one is Hubbyman. He looks like an old man!

He always stands like that in pictures. ;-)
